Hi Stefan and everybody
I saw some questions about the DiAn converter and i'll try to give answers:
Yes, the DiAn have an hybrid output stage with an ECC82 tube directly coupled with a bipolar transistor in single-ended mode...
Yes, the DiAn is able to decode pre-emphasis mode but i wasn't able to verify that since i don't have any CD with this old mode that was used in the early 80's. It work's a bit as a Dolby increasing the high frequencies on the vrecord and reducing during the play to minimise the digital noise and the metallic sound of the higher frequencies that was called "the digital sound" at the beginning of the CD's.
The Amanero card is set by us to decode the signal in a native way so the dac-chip receives exactly the sampling frequency and bit lenght that have entered in the DiAn. There's no upsampling or downsizing, the signal is decoded but remains untouched in is digital form...
We're glad that Stefan appreciates our DAC and as stated in anTiTon's site it was a long and difficult project because the converter should work with CD's, Musical Files and at all the sampling frequencies with natural sound... as a vinyl lover and turntable manufacturer, i wanted from DiAn to give the same pleasure in a digital listening session, easy to say but hard to do! We've tried all the dac-chips, usb interfaces and coupled with a lot of different output stages... and after three years a smile in our face and the feet bouncing showed us that the work aw done and finished. Finally what the people are feeling with DiAn was the same reaction that we had when he was born
Cheers and good Weekend to you all !!!
